Mayor Sly James and community partners to announce Project Rise September 6th at 11:30 a.m. at Sherwood Center

September 2, 2011 - KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI

Kansas City Mayor Sly James, in conjunction with the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, Center for Economic Opportunity, the federal Corporation for National and Community Service, United Way of Greater Kansas City, Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph, and the Full Employment Council will announce the launch of Project Rise.  This multi-million dollar grant was awarded to advance education, develop workforce skills, increase employment and teach financial literacy while combating poverty and increasing opportunity across the City.
