Mayor Sly James announces that Kristin Hetle, Director of Strategic Partnerships for UN Women, will be the keynote speaker on the topic of “protecting and empowering the world’s women and girls” at this year’s Mayor’s UN Dinner. Ms. Hetle oversees UN Women’s corporate communications, resource mobilization and partnering with civil society. She is also responsible for outreach to the business community and other non-traditional partners. Before joining UN Women she served as Director of Communications for the Ministry of Labor in her home country of Norway.
“I’m honored to welcome Ms. Hetle to Kansas City and look forward to learning from her expertise in using partnerships to empower women,” said Mayor James. “As mayor, I want Kansas City to be best and that means ensuring that every Kansas Citian maximizes his or her potential. I’m excited about the innovative partnership we’re employing to achieve that and Ms. Hetle’s visit is the perfect way to unveil it.”
