Kansas City Mayor Sly James released the following statement in reaction to Education Commissioner Chris Nicastro’s report to the State Board of Education:
“I appreciate the recommendations of Commissioner Nicastro, and look forward to continuing our positive working relationship as our community conversation leads to a consensus plan. Our charge going forward is not easy but is absolutely necessary. We need to determine the best course of action, whatever course it is, my plan or another, jointly commit to that plan, and take action now.”
