Mayor Sly James issued the following statement today in response to shootings in Charleston, South Carolina:

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those who were so brutally and senselessly slain in Charleston. It is hard to imagine how anyone could be so callous as to murder people in a house of worship.

Tragically, these senseless acts of violence are more prolific than ever. We all must commit to work together to stamp out hatred in our cities.”
